Mark 5:25-34 Thursday Night Worship Sermon "Reach for Him"

The sermon last Thursday night was over the verses found in the Gospel of Mark at Chapter 5, verses 25-34.  This is the story of the woman plagued with bleeding. Her condition would have rendered her as 'unclean' and she would no doubt have been an outcast. But, she fought through the stigma of being in a public place and approached Jesus, not feeling worthy to even call upon Him, she simply believed that just touching His cloak... even that trivial of contact with her Savior would be enough, enough to heal her and restore her to a place in the community.

It's a very short sermon so I encourage you all to give it a few minutes and see if we aren't all very much like that poor woman so long ago.

The sermon was very short as we had Vacation Bible School going on in the building at the same time, and besides running the worship service I was set to teach a class.  I taught a class at 6:00 pm, then conducted the service at 7:00 pm, then taught another class at 7:30 pm.  It made for a very hectic night but it was well worth it all, anytime we have the chance to influence a young heart and mind and help plant the seed of God's love in their lives, well then all the hectic, rushing, chaos... it's all worth it.

God bless our little ones!

Be a blessing to someone today!

In His Grace,
Roy

Mark 5:25-34  Revised Standard Version (RSV)
25 And there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. 27 She had heard the reports about Jesus, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. 28 For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well.” 29 And immediately the hemorrhage ceased; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. 30 And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone forth from him, immediately turned about in the crowd, and said, “Who touched my garments?” 31 And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?’” 32 And he looked around to see who had done it. 33 But the woman, knowing what had been done to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”
